Ana Janež is completing her master's degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design. She has shown in several group exhibitions in Slovenia and abroad, and in the solo exhibitions Si upaš verjeti v nekaj tako negotovega? (2024), Pomladna hibernacija (2023) and Slišiš, da nič ne slišiš? (2022).
She works mostly in painting and drawing, and indirectly in photography and installation. She pays particular attention to the surface of her works, their presence in space and the ambiguous character of her images. By breaking down and repeating segments, and by leaving out narrative, she aims to unsettle the viewer's reading of the content and reveal as little as possible.
