Jona Bednjanec

Jona Bednjanec is a knitwear designer working in clothing and textile design. She completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Textile and Clothing Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana.

Knitting is her main medium, through which she expresses herself with colour, pattern and knitting technology. She works regularly with local knitwear manufacturers, keeping the quality of making, and the origin of each piece, entirely local. She gives knitting on domestic knitting machines a fresh, contemporary feel that appeals to a wider audience. The yarns she uses are mostly leftovers from local knitwear production, which results in unique, unrepeatable colour combinations. She presents her work in Slovenia and abroad.
